Digitalisation "in timber construction
The fact that digitalisation is now making its way into almost all areas of life and work is nothing new, and this also applies to timber construction. The fact that a timber construction offers a home to “digitalisation” is. When the managing director of Keplinger GmbH, Josef Simmer, was faced with the necessity of building a new server room, the decision was made in favour of a timber construction. “Wood” is the material we deal with every day as a company. The requirements for heat equalisation in summer and winter as well as all commercial law requirements could be met cost-effectively, sustainably and technically without any problems.
The company SIHGA from Ohlsdorf, the specialist for fastening technology in timber construction, and the Rabmer Group with its timber construction company R&R Holzbau, based in Altenberg near Linz, were won as partners for the project.
The managing directors of the two companies are enthusiastic about the project. “Timber construction is the best climate protection so that our children also have an environment worth living in,” says Jane Beryl-Simmer, Managing Director of SIHGA. Ulrike Rabmer-Koller, Managing Partner of the Rabmer Group, is also pleased to be part of this project: “We have been involved in sustainable construction for a very long time and wood is an important material here. This project in particular shows how versatile wood can be.”
Josef Simmer is completely satisfied, because “not only do we have a technically perfect solution, but we can use our new server room as an exhibition for our terrace, façade and fastening technology.”
