To inspire young people and children as soon as possible for technical trades is a major concern of the Altenberg construction and environmental technology company Rabmer. In addition to the annual Girl’s Day, the company’s own Mama & Daddy Day and the taster days for interested apprentices, the company has decided to participate in the Altenberg vacation game for the first time this year. “In order to bring our vocational everyday life playfully closer to the children we developed different stations and the boys and girls could in small groups a whole morning long excavate, wall, hammer, with a TV camera channels inspect, crane drive as well as loaders, stackers and trucks in detail under the magnifying glass take, explain business guide likes Ulrike Rabmer Koller. The children were able to learn in detail what a construction company is all about and – with a wink – they discovered a few talents for the future. “Some of the children didn’t want to leave and start working for us immediately”, laughs Rabmer-Koller. The varied program was followed by lunch together and a cool ice cream before the six to twelve-year-old children were picked up by their parents again.
“The children were fully engaged and it was a great experience for all of us. It was impressive to see how talented and interested the children approached the work. I am pleased that we were able to arouse enthusiasm for technical trades with this campaign. We will certainly be taking part again next year,” concluded Rabmer-Koller.
