Future-oriented strategies for the hotel industry

On September 26, 2024, the Hotel Sacher was all about exciting ideas and innovative approaches to the hotel industry and sustainability, presented by Ghezzo #wissen rockt. Our expert Klaus Pichler presented practical solutions on how hotels can operate sustainably. He presented two key technologies: the Aquabion® for limescale and corrosion protection and the ecowaterjet by rabmer®for water conservation and energy efficiency.

The Aquabion® protects the pipes from limescale deposits and corrosion, extends the service life of the entire water infrastructure and reduces maintenance costs. The ecowaterjet by rabmer®offers an efficient solution for saving water and energy - without compromising on showering comfort for guests. The average water consumption per guest per day is an alarming 290 liters - more than twice as much as in a normal household!

In view of these figures, it is clear that we need to act. Klaus Pichler emphasized the urgency of measures to improve water efficiency in order to conserve our planet's valuable water resources. Saving water is not only ecologically sustainable, but also brings considerable cost benefits for the hotel industry.

A look at the EU taxonomy makes it clear how serious the industry is about sustainable practices. These guidelines set clear standards: Showers are allowed to use a maximum of 8 liters per minute, while taps at hand basins are limited to 6 liters per minute.
