Record attendance at the Rabmer Children's Building Day

Children experience exciting insights into the world of construction and environmental technology

Rabmer recorded an impressive record number of participants at this year's Children's Construction Day: over 70 children aged between 6 and 14 joined the Rabmer team to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of construction and environmental technology and put their technical and manual skills to the test at six varied stations.

The Rabmer Children's Construction Day took place for the fourth time in a row. The aim of this initiative is to awaken enthusiasm for technology and craftsmanship among school-age children. Not only children of employees, but also children from the home community of Altenberg and the neighboring community of Hellmonsödt were delighted to take part in the event. Demand was so high that the number of participants was increased from the originally planned 60 to 72, but there was still a long waiting list. The increasing number of girls taking part was also particularly pleasing - 40% of the children from Altenberg took part.

Playfully learning about professions
Equipped with Rabmer work clothes - T-shirt, work gloves, cool caps, a bricklayer's pencil and folding rule - the children experienced an active day. In small groups, they mastered six varied stations where dexterity, creativity and manual skills were required. The children were not shy and maneuvered a forklift through an obstacle course with assistance. Together as a team, they built a herb snail out of bricks for the garden and hammered and drilled a picture out of wood and crown corks in the carpentry workshop. Bright eyes could also be seen at the "Excavator driving" station, where the children moved material independently with a mini-excavator after a short introduction. The next station involved exploring a labyrinth of sewer pipes with the help of a sewer inspection robot and finding hidden stuffed animals. New this year was the "Saving water is child's play!" station, where the children developed an awareness of water consumption and learned how they can reduce it through simple measures.

Introducing children to technology
"The Rabmer Children's Construction Day was once again a complete success this year - as shown by the increasing number of registrations year after year. The girls and boys are full of enthusiasm and curiosity and solve the tasks set with great motivation. The positive feedback from parents also confirms our commitment," said Managing Director Ulrike Rabmer-Koller. "We are very pleased that the demand is so great and that we can arouse interest in manual and technical professions at an early age with our initiative. And who knows, maybe we will be able to welcome some children as apprentices in the future."

The mayor of Altenberg, NR. Michael Hammer and Hellmonsödt Deputy Mayor Claudia Hammer, who visited the individual stations and actively cheered on the children. Both municipalities also promoted the children's construction day as part of the vacation play activities and organized the registration.

The Rabmer Children's Building Day was once again a complete success and not only brought a sparkle to the participants' eyes, but also new inspiration and enthusiasm for the building trade.
