Energy from Wastewater and Exhaust Air

E+E Electronics

The use of this highly efficient technology resulted in a reduction in total energy consumption of approximately 40%. This corresponds to a total savings of approximately 1.4 million kWh per year, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of approximately 540 households in Austria.

Tulln City Hall

Since 2024, the town hall in Tulln has been supplied with wastewater energy, providing approximately 100 kW of cooling capacity and
75 kW of heating capacity. To this end, 88 m of Therm-Liner modules were installed at the
bottom of the sewer.

Vio Plaza Vienna Meidling

Since 2024, this state-of-the-art neighborhood in Vienna’s Meidling district has been supplied with approximately 6 MW of cooling capacity and
1.2 MW of heating capacity derived from wastewater energy (based on the Thermliner system from Uhrig).

Vienna Blumental Sewer

The newly constructed Wien Kanal headquarters uses energy from wastewater to provide heating (161 kW) and cooling (530 kW) via heat exchangers and heat pumps. Completed in 2021.

Joh. Kepler University Hospital Linz

Using Heat from Cafeteria Wastewater to Preheat Fresh Water
50 kW – Plate heat exchanger with integrated self-cleaning system

Stadtwerke GAV, Amstetten

Heating (186 kW) of the Stadtwerke Amstetten operational buildings using wastewater energy based on Thermliner (Uhrig). Completed in 2014.
