It is the largest trade fair for municipalities - around 200 exhibitors will be presenting their latest products, services, forward-looking ideas and practical solutions for municipalities at the Kommunalmesse Tulln. Our focus: Energy from wastewater
Technologies for using energy from wastewater are economical, efficient and innovative solutions - and absolutely in tune with the times. Over 50% of the world's energy requirements are used for heating and cooling, including hot water preparation. With wastewater heat, we have a huge energy potential at our disposal, which can be used for both heating and cooling using state-of-the-art heat exchanger and heat pump technology. It is also becoming increasingly important for municipalities to act with foresight and environmental awareness - the optimal solution for heating and cooling buildings as an alternative to fossil fuels is therefore energy from the public sewer system, which is classified as renewable energy according to the EU Directive (2018/2001). If office and residential buildings, hospitals or shopping centers are located near sewers with a wastewater flow rate of at least 10 liters per second, these buildings can be heated and cooled in a particularly economical and environmentally friendly way using energy from the wastewater. The first step is to create a "wastewater thermal" map for the municipality, which shows the potential that can be exploited. In the next step, potential energy consumers are identified and a concrete feasibility study with a technical concept and investment and amortization calculation is drawn up for them. All of this is always done in consultation with the wastewater association or sewage treatment plant operator.

You can expect practical solutions, accumulated expert knowledge, the best suppliers from the sewer sector, unique tools & equipment, live demonstrations and drinks. The topic of "sewers" will be brought to life for you at 7 stations. Our experts from Rabmer can be found at station 6: At this stand (outdoor area in front of Hall 3, FG 62) you will receive detailed information on the necessary technical equipment such as heat exchangers and heat pumps as well as advice on all the above steps on the way to implementation in your municipality, including information on possible subsidies. In addition, you can take a look inside a pipe with an integrated heat exchanger and, as a further highlight, you will also be presented with devices such as a flow meter.
